If you struggle with making packed lunches in the morning then try this simple hack for making and freezing them ahead of time, ready to pop straight from the freezer into lunchboxes!
I’ve been sharing some freezable lunch ideas this week but I thought I’d also share this really simple hack for batch making and freezing sandwiches for lunchboxes during the week.
Now I know it take just a couple of minutes to make a sandwich in the morning but for some parents struggling with time, or with a lot of lunchboxes to make, this freezing method can just make their life a little easier first thing in the day.
It’s also a great way to ensure fresh sandwiches all week as the bread won’t go hard and stale.
Just make your sandwich as normal. Simple sandwich fillings such as ham, cheese, chicken and turkey work best.
Cut into four and then add to a sandwich bag, pushing out as much air as possible.
Pop in the freezer and in the morning just place directly from the freezer into the lunchbox.
It’s also a great way to keep yogurts cool in lunchboxes if you place the frozen sandwich on top of it. Double win!
